R. Mark Maddox

Mark sets the course for success as the President & CEO, energizing the organization with dynamic vision and confident leadership. Before his journey began at Cary Oil, he shaped the industry landscape as Executive VP and COO at Lee Moore Oil Company and spearheaded operations at SPATCO Environmental Services as VP of Operations. Mark is a North Carolina State University graduate, with a BA in Political Science and Economics and completed the Advanced Management Program at Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

At Cary Oil, Mark steers the helm, navigating long-term strategy and orchestrating strategic acquisitions with finesse. With his ascent through the ranks—from his early days as VP of Branded Marketing to the mastery of the details as COO—Mark embodies a legacy of progressive leadership.

His commitment to excellence extends beyond the corporate realm. Mark is a cornerstone of the community, fostering connections with a number of local outreach missions including Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the American Heart Association. He champions youth empowerment, serving as a guiding light as a Counselor and Volunteer for Young Life. Mark’s dedication extends to shaping the financial landscape, having served as the Finance Director of Western Wake County Young Life.

Amidst the accolades of leadership lies a heartwarming tale of family. Mark and his wife Lorenda’s enduring love spans almost four decades. Their legacy includes three accomplished children and two granddaughters who embody the very essence of joy, making their world infinitely richer.
